Official Lumia 720 Amber Update Thread

Very weird this. No Lumia 720 has that firmware across all regions. I checked it. Can you check and share your product code. It is the code written on the phone's Sim tray. Another way of checking is to connect the phone to a computer and running NSU. If possible do share a screenshot of your about phone page.

Strictly speaking, that's not the firmware. That's the Build ID displayed under extras+info. The Firmware revision number is listed in about.

But what could that update be about? Updated today only. Prior to that, it was up to date.

That IS Amber update. Black firmware starts with 3051.xxxx.xxxx.xxxx

i am using GDR3 Dev preview, then how come the FW version is 00001 instead of 10271 ?
or its just due to GDR3?

Again, there is a difference between Build ID and firmware revision number.

I've updated to Lumia Black and the camera quality does seem sharper and not as much noise when zooming in. The shutter speed now only goes up to 1 second but the manual ISO setting goes up to 3200 now. No worries since the picture quality seems to be better.

Sorry, yeah I meant that I flashed my phone with the Lumia Black firmware ROM that has been floating around.

Got Black in Serbia, everything's working fine. Battery drain was still present,
so then i finally removed battery app and it's working like a charm now.

Its just the OS version. This is because you were under GDR3 Preview.

I also have battery app installed, how fast was the drain you were experiencing??

Sometimes it was 20% per hour, according to app itself. It lasted for two days, but i used internet (wifi or 3G) only for a few minutes for whole day.
Now, after deleting battery app, i used wifi a looot, and it's on 96% after 4 hours.
