Offline maps in gmaps pro Lumia 535?

When I first purchased gpmaps pro I thought I was able to define what map area I wanted (UK only) and downloaded it. Now, when i try to use the app I'm getting a message to the effect it cannot connect to the server, try again later. It has been like this for 3 days. I'm assuming that I no longer have the offline maps but when I re-install it doesn't ask me to select a map area.

Any ideas please?

Did you already try to contact the developer of gpsmaps pro ?
We are not the developer of the app and may not be able to help you.

But why do you not use the free Here drive+ apps for your navigation

No I haven't but I was hoping someone here who uses the app could help. I had purchased the app and I liked it when it was working, particularly street view. I do use Here, I use these apps not for driving but using the hybrid view I can get around on foot and street view helps with that,
