As a bit of an update, I went into my local Verizon store the other day and asked them specifically about the HP Elite X3 and whether they would be carrying it soon. He looked it up in his computer and said he couldn't find anything officially, but said, and I quote, "there are rumors in some of their internal corporate communications that it may be released soon."
There is talk on that forum of LTE only phones should be released by Microsoft to go on VZ. The AT&T model of the Lumia 950 supports bands 7 and 13 though so not sure how VZ is able to provision on a phone that supports those bands...
EDIT: Actually it supports all of them (2, 4, 5, and 13).
How does a phone that has an active VZ sim card work out with LTE only if it has no CDMA (1xRTT & EV-DO/eHRPD)?
