On my [HTC 8X] why aren't my earphones functioning?

[HTC 8X] My earphone is not functioning !

I bought this skull candy earphone, after little use it is not working with my windows phone HTC 8X. So I thought the earphone is broken but no, it worked perfectly fine with another phone. It is not working with my HTC 8X only. So I thought my headphone jack is broken so I plug in different earphone and it is working perfectly fine. I don't get what's happening !?!?? both are working but they are not working together...
