On my Lumia 830 why does sound occasionally disappear?

Lumia 830 - sound occasionally disappears

Just got a Lumia 830. Occasionally, out of the blue, all sounds just cut out. Only way to get it back seems to be turning phone off and restart - or we call or send a text to it.

Any ideas to what is causing this? Solution?

Do you have Windows 8.1 Update 2 installed using Insider program? Because seems it has this type of bug. If so, just restore it to the latest official consumer version with recovery tool. If it is Update 1 on board then I have no ideas ATM.

If you are using iOS compatible headphones it can mess up the disconnect recognition and the reboot fixes that. get different headphones that are not "I" type.
