I have a Lumia 640 XL. I installed Windows 10 mobile on the phone. Windows 10 version 1607, OS Build 10.0.14393.693

The problem I am having is that OneDrive can't updated on my phone. This is causing the OneDrive app to not work on my phone.

All other apps update just fine on the phone. But OneDrive goes through the download and install process, then before the install completes, this error displays: 0x80004005

I tried cancelling the OneDrive install from the app store, then did a soft reset (volume down + power), then after the phone restarts, I try to update the OneDrive again, but I get the same problem.

Also, my OneDrive app will NOT start. Probably because it can't install.

Any ideas on how I can resolve this problem?

Jerry, how much free space to you have on the phone? Are you trying to install it to an SD card because that is one that can only be installed to the device memory? I don't have any issues with the one drive app on my 640XL and it is updated regularly.

I've had this problem, or problems like it, on my 640XL too. It always eventually resolves itself, if that makes you feel any better.

Have you tried going to "Storage" and seeing the app state there. Sometimes, you can delete it there and*reload it.

And of course, there's the dreaded "Hard Reset."

Good luck.

I have 5 gb free on device and 10 free on SD. I do have "new" apps installing on SD card. It looks like the OneDrive app was installed on "device". Perhaps I'll set everything to install on device and see if onedrive can update then.
