One of my apps disappeared, kind of

I have the NY Times Crossword app and subscription installed on my 1520, and an update came available yesterday. After installation it disappeared from the Game hub thingy and is no longer visible in the application list. If I hit search and type in the first letter it appears and I can load and play as normal.

Is that more likely an OS bug, or app/installation routine bug? Any way to correct it? I pinned it to the start screen so it's not a huge deal, just wondering.

That hasn't happened to me but today a friend of mine told me that his weather app disappeared from the beginning of his start screen to appear at the very bottom. I know it is a different problem but might bring different experiences from other people.
