OneDrive goes from 15GB to 5GB

I'm really annoyed that Microsoft is dropping one drive from 15GB to 5GB I have about 12GB stored with them so I have to move my data and store it elsewhere😠

I have 30GB free, it is your fault for not paying attention. Even MS said that you have to opt to keep your storage, that's what most of us did. You can try MEGA, they give ton of free storage for free.

well, since you've said they change their minds maybe they might change the decision again in the future

When in comes to Microsoft doing anything for its customers...the saying don't hold your breath comes to mind. Just like Coming soon. which really means, coming......maybe/never/good luck with that!.....I am done with their foolish business practices when it comes to mobile. I am gone to android, and will enjoy a fully functioning phone instead of a better feature phone.

I'm not surprised that you might've missed it. I think unless you specifically searched for cloud tech, OneDrive or MS news a few months ago, you would not have heard about it. I know a few folks who have Surfaces, and they didn't know anything about it until I told them back in January.

I received months ago Microsoft mails in Hotmail account for instruction to follow

I missed the articles too. I received the email about the change last week. I've been looking to switch to Mega but not sure yet. I also figured I could buy the Office 365 subscription for a year and get the 1TB of One Drive. I also use Google Drive and Dropbox but I really liked One Drive.

I'm sure they emailed everyone about "Changes to Service" and again for "Opt In To Keeping Bonus Storage."

Most people were then able to keep at least 30 GB.

FWIW, Box gives good service. I've had 50GB there free since forever. They have steps to complete after sign up that earn extra space and then the real capper is a device bounty. If you sign in with a certain device you get a huge bump up. For me it was HP Touchpad, so you know how long it has been. I also saw a bounty for Nexus 4. The device bounty isn't cumulative but is a huge amount on it's own.

On sign up, you start with 10GB storage and a file limit of 250MB. Paid options galore that you probably will only need if your files exceed 250MB.

Easy there :winktongue: Not everyone has the time to check the website or any other websites for news pertaining to phones/windows 10 and OP did say that he didn't receive the mail, so it isn't entirely his fault

they did a few months ago, but people may have easily missed it IF they don't keep up with their emails, or signed up AFTER that batch was sent.

I still have my 30GB, so I'm fine.

Ven07 you took the words out of my mouth.. I don't spend alot of time on here I'm very busy alot of the time living in the real world...and with a new baby at home I'm exhausted.

the office 365 subscription is really a good one, even if it is pricey.

OMG, there' was a mail, not a site news :( Everyone checks mails daily, before going in the real world

I only got the email a few days ago also I've only been one windows for about 4wks and yes I check my mail everyday...

I too never got an email, but it is my understanding that if you load it up to the max storage your files will be fine, you just can't upload anything else.

I had opted in for the 15 gb storage and i still got email that their dropping to 5GB, is there someone else who got this mail despite opting in ?
