Dude, Apple just posted $13 billion EBITA!!!!!
Good for them they have a great start in the mobile industry right now nothing is competing against the iPads and Android tablets aren't going to cut it.
So what if they sold 37 million iPhones this earth has 7 billion people, 37 million is a small number compared to that.
Also the Wii sold 94.7M does it mean that everybody is going to buy it?
Apple didn't get 37million sales out of no where they have some other companies to thank for example
1. Blackberry since they are going under Blackberry users don't know where to flock to. I doubt they will go with Android because it seems like a more complex solution. Windows Phone isn't available everywhere yet so iPhone is the only real safe bet for them to invest 200$ on
2. Android users. Non techy people that bought their low-end Androids are most likely dissapointed with the platform because of speed issues. Why would they invest another 200$ to buy the latest dual core galaxy/nexus's? Since WP isn't available everywhere yet iPhone is the safest bet to jump to
3. Microsoft. Apple can thank Microsoft for being late to the game. If Microsoft released WP Mango a year after Android debuted so basically the year of the iPhone4 the marketshare would be completely different. Windows phone is a awesome platform for Blackberry and Android (non geeky) users to jump to. WP offers a variety of handsets and prices BUT WP isn't available everywhere yet and not all the top phones are on every carrier. For example all my disgrunted BB users at work I have to suggest the iPhone because Bell doesn't have any 2nd gen WP's available I am going to consider buying unlocked Nokia phones for users now.
They can also thank Microsoft for being late with Windows 8 tablets. If Windows 8 tablets competed with the iPad 2 the tablet marketshare would be different right now to.
Congrats to Apple for all the sucess but IMO they were in the right place at the right time and nothing is messing up their momentum right now not until MS gets their sh*t together with Windows 8
