"Other" taking up storage

Can somebody please explain why "other" takes up 8 gb of storage on my Lumia 1020?

MS failed to provide us with info regarding the "other files" section and why it grows. It shouldn't be that big anyways. A hard reset can help clear it up. The good news is, that w10 doesn't have this problem

Yup, it does, i'm on the preview and have about 1gb of it.
