would be neat where redfly could be used outside as pda and phones arent ideal for this. is a good splashproof case around for it?

The case is sturdy. Definitley splash resistant. No moving parts, so I'll stick my neck out and say that it should be able to survive the odd water spill, but avoid beer, coke, coffee etc ;-)

People have been buying neoprene cases designed for eeePCs and reporting they are good.

You can use the silicone keyboard protector that's out there for the Eee PC 701 - it fits the REDFLY keyboard pretty well and would help protect from spills.

Since there isn't a lot of complicated electronics inside the REDFLY or moving parts, it would fair better than most laptops etc. in rainy situations etc. However, it wasn't designed to truly ruggedized specs so you'd have to be very careful.

some aspects of shrouding the RF would open up some neat market sector scenarios. even 3rd party casing etc.
