Outlook won't accept Microsoft account info after updating to Win 10

So my wife dropped her 950 face down and the screen shattered to bits, and it won't even turn on. So as a backup, I went out and got a 640 from Best Buy for $29.99. In setting it up I might have made the mistake of trying to restore her 950 backup, before remembering that the 640 was still on 8.1. So I downloaded the insider app and got 10 on there, but now somehow her outlook and contacts are gone, and every time I try and open the outlook app, it prompts to be setup. I am guessing I will have to "do over", but I'm wondering whats the best way to go about it. Reset the phone (which I am assuming will take it back to 8.1), start again, but do not restore, update to win 10, and then is it possible to restore?

Reset the phone, you should be still on W10....but don't restore! :amaze:

thanks for the help, I will try that tonight. Is there a reason not to restore? I know most "pros" don't do it, cause fresh is best, but not having to re-load every app she had would sure be nice, also restoring her txts is big for her.

Hi Randy , try to login into your wife outlook account using browser(pc/laptop) maybe u can find her contact right there.

I would only restore if it's the same phone and version OS....but you can give it a go as there isn't much to lose....only that it lakes AGES!
