Overriding auto-brightness

Can a flashlight app that uses the screen for light set the screen to maximum brightness, only while the app is running, even if the phone is set to automatically adjust? I'd like a flashlight app like that but I'm not sure it's possible.

I don't think so dev have access to brightness settings , if you using windows phone 8.1 you can set brightness option in action centre to quickly increase/decrease the brightness level :wink:
