Partial Charging?

Hey guys,

This is more of a question than a problem. Plugged in my 950 XL into the wall socket today (but forgot to turn the power on). Didn't realise at first, because the phone started charging, for about 15 seconds before stopping. This cycle repeated a couple of times before I realised the power was off.

Does anyone know what causes this to happen? Seems like it's informational; as in, the device recognises what it's connected to, but needs power to charge. Is this a feature exclusive to USB-C, the 950/XL, or both?

It could be that your switch was partially on? Or its still leaking power despite of being switched off?

I've no idea. What I can do, to test this, is turn off the power switch fully and see if the problem is still there. If so, I'll move to another wall socket and see if it occurs. If it still occurs, is this a problem with my charger or device?

You can simply disconnect te adapter from the wall socket, it will have the same behaviour. The problem is in the device power management (every 950 and xl) when plugged into a disconnected charger

So perhaps it's a feature then? Letting you know the device is connected to a power source, to remind you to turn it on at the source (i.e. wall)?
