PC Access to Calendar and Xfr Apps & Data to New Phone

2 questions.

1. My Lumia 521 died and I am getting a Lumia 640. Until I get and configure it, can I access to the Calendar via my Windows PC?

2. When my new phone is configured will the apps and data be transferred to it? Automatically, or will I have to do it myself? I vaguely recall that there is some utility for that.

1. yes, you can access calendar as long as you used the same email account
2. was your old phone on windows 8 or 8.1? If yes, you can do a restore - when you start up your new phone and begin setting it up, at some point it will ask for restoring old backup - you can say yes and apps will be automatically downloaded
