Phone as a mobile hotspot?

Can the 920 on at&t be used as mobile hotspot? Does it require an app?

It depends on your plan. If your plan allows it, you can. If not...you can't.

As WanderingTraveler said, it requires you to have the 5GB data plan. I decided to go for it since I get a hefty discount on my AT&T bill through school. I'm actually using it right now because this hotel WIFI sucks!

Not true, I have a shared 4GB family plan and I use it all the time. Works great and doesn't seem to suck down the battery like earlier phones did.

I believe the key is to have a SHARED plan. Then the hotspot is included in the plan. Works great on my 10 gb shared plan.
