Phone availability for unlocked phones

So I get that 8.1 is right around the corner, but as a HTC 8S unlocked owner, how do I get it? Do I just keep hitting the update button every hour or is there a specific HTC website that I have go to, to get the 8.1

Just wait until it's officially released and the phone should pick it up on its own.

8.1's offcial release has already begun (in some countries for some phones. I know it sucks).
The best way to stay informed on it's availability for any particular phone is to visit WPC site more or less regularly.

It will probably take some time for the update to reach non-lumia devices. There's nothing to do but wait it out.
