Problem developing app for Nokia Lumia 1320 on Windows 8 OS
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Using a system that has 8.1 windows OS Enterprise (Microsoft is very clever)
2. Having visual studio 2013

trying to design app for windows then my pain:-
1. Windows Enterprise version does not allow to open the Emulator for testing.
2. Microsoft did a clever job so that people cant design app with the OS they provide, while customer buy system/laptop.
[To run the emulator one need to have Windows Professional , not Enterprise version], Hyver-V need to setup additionally which is common.

I have:
Machine: Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 running on Windows 8.1 Enterprise
Dev Platform: Visual Studio 2013
Physical Windows Phone: Nokia Lumia 1320 running on Windows Phone OS 8

As I cant open emulator, i try with device direct and it works fine (phone registered) for XAML based app. which is wonderful.
Trying to design app using pure HTML and JavaScript (Universal App template), now it needs upgrade to SP 2 for VS 2013

I do the upgrade, then earlier at least device I could test, now it expects my device to be on 8.1 OS when 1320 is on 8 and still MS have no update for the phone from 8 to 8.1, I am blocked, (neither XAML nor HTML)

There is no upgrade to 8.1 for the phone. Nokia 1320 Lumia running on Windows 8
There is simple no option to change the Target OS for testing or deployment, once you upgrade to SP 2 of VS2013, target fixed to 8.1

This is bad.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues.

I've moved your thread to the Developers Corner forum. Hopefully, other folks who are developers will be able to help you.

Hi Laura and Himanshu,

Many thanks for your suggestion, it really worked and awesome.
Now I am with my Nokia Lumia 1320 Windows 8.1 OS Developer Preview and tested some apps with Universal App Sample on my device.

Wonderful

Thanks again,
Soumen

Just if anyone have the same trouble - you can use Visual Studio 2012 to develop apps for WP8.0/7.1
