Phone locks up after clicking send text

Hi, recently my phone has been locking up every time I send a text. I click the send button and it locks up for a good minute or two or just crashes and goes back to the homepage. After I try to open my text again it takes 10+ seconds to get to the messages and then for 5-10 seconds it says I have none but then updates them. Can anyone explain why this is happening? I don't want to reset my phone but it seems like I should especially because months ago my main Microsoft account starting throwing up an error every time it syncs.

I'm guessing you have alot of messages. that's the only instance where I've experienced that.

I deleted them all, and it still locks up
