Photos in Photos app won't delete

Since upgrade to Window 10 mobile on my 1020...I noticed when I deleted the pictures in the Photos app it still exists on the phone but not showing in the photos app. I realized this when I go to Instagram to select a photo and it's still showing all the pictures which I deleted in the Photo app. So I double checked by plugging my phone into a computer...I browsed to the picture folder and lord behold all the deleted pictures still there. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

If I remember correctly from when I had a 1020 all photos you take also save to your phone in hi definition so you have to plug your phone into a pc to access them. There is probably a setting in the camera app to turn this off. Also deleting a photo on your phone would not also delete it from any other app you upload to. You would have to go into instagram to do that.

Before upgrade to window 10, whatever I deleted in Photos app...it deleted both the low and hi definition versions.

Regardless, when I browsed to the picture folder...it's still showing both versions.

I know what you are talking about. The Photos app is sh1t. When deleting it doesn't delete, and regardless it has this constant spinning wheel. Quite amazing how they managed to screw up such a basic function. I have stopped using it altogether, and use either Camera360 Sight or Lumia storyteller as photo viewers. Delete functions work properly in those 2.

Not only that, but when a file was actually deleted from the device, the thumbnails still appear in the photo app.. even though the file is not even there anymore *sigh*

I Have the same problem on my Lumia 730 Dual SIM in india.
The Photo is getting deleted in the photos app but when i open the file explorer and see the Pictures folder all the photos are there.

There is a small workaround i am using for this.
Download Lumia StoryTeller App on windows 10 mobile and delete the photos you want in the app.
or
You can also try deleting from the Camera App: Open Camera- Click the Recent Photos button- Delete.

this is actually a glitch that is affecting all phones on threshold builds, not just 1020. only workaround is to delete using file explorer app or from pc

Seems like we would have to wait till Windows 11 to get back delete-feature in Photo-App.
