Bit of a bumper update this time...apologies but I would like to share a few photos and it has been a little while since my last update ;)

First off, we have a new addition to the family. We adopted a 7 month old kitten from the RSPCA. We decided to call him Marmite due to his colour and his natural personality means, you either like him or hate him (just like the real marmite). Luckily for Marmite, we rather like him...

And just for fun...

Was out taking the dog for a walk when I noticed what looked like a bird of prey in the sky. Managed to get my 1020 out in time in order to get a photo:

And from that image, I was able to resize the image enough to identify the bird!

Amazing resizing capabilities!

I kinda wish I hadn't deleted so many photos which didn't meet my initial approval. I have since learned that resizing on the 1020 can transform what appears to be a crap photo into something more than passable!

but how did you get the exposure time this high without blowing up the image with brightness?

They were taken in the evening and there was plenty of shelter from the light from surrounding trees and bushes.

The shutter speeds for those photos were 4, 1.3 and 3.2 seconds. Quite surprised the first one came out that well in 4 seconds. ISO was 100 for all of them.

A very nice album, all photos have good contrast and sharpness
Did you take those photos with auto mode or manual setting? Thanks

the vast majority are made with manual settings .... especially in the night, where it takes a long shutter speed and a fixed position camera

Even the ducks needed to cool off from the hot Florida sun!
