I think the 8X has a fantastic camera. My only gripes would be low light indoor performance and the lack of stabilization. The 8X is great at macro.

I should note that the lense on the camera had some smudges or something on the interior. I got to the point were all the photos look washed out. I got the phone replaced at least.
