I bought today Lumia 550 - perfect 4,7" size, bright, sharp screen with 314 PPI, LTE & great camera (just look).

Hi, i suppose to have some camera failure. In the left side there is always a green burn and a purple one can be seen on the lower part of photos. In low light conditions appear horizontal lines in green and purple.
The strange thing is that all this is happening after the photos are taken and not in real time. Even the "completing" step worsen the photos, blurring surfaces and contrasting edges.

Let me know your experience

Yes in low light conditions appear horizontal lines (green and purple).
I think its a software issue.

Definitely a software issue. It seems to be part of the new low-light algorithms that MS is now using for it's camera (which are awful in comparison to the older Nokia software). You will probably see that the photo looks ok until the phone has finished "adding the finishing touches" (i.e. ruining the photo).

Ok thanks for the confirm. After some shoots using lower ISO lines seem to disappear and can be noticed only in darker area. Its really awful the look given by the "finishing touches" step, hoping the software will be improved. Do you have an alternative app to recommend? I tried 4bledhdr and Oneshoot and i didn't like them...

Here is a video I recorded of my friend singing at open mic with my 550 - I'm not horrified of the quality! Pretty happy actually.

LOL. It isn't half bad. FWIW, I use DailyMotion to host my vidz. They embed on the forum and you don't have all that Google hassle like using YouTube entails.

Blue tongue lizard - Re: Pictures / Video taken with your Lumia 550



We've been going through a record heatwave. Moving hay for the livestock between paddocks and I came across this blue tongue lizard scurrying across the hot gravel moving from shade to shade.
I got it across the road but it was less than impressed with my presence.

Lumia 550 may have a basic camera, but it suits my needs.

THAT is a great shot. I don't care what Phone you used. For those that don't know... Click the picture and it opens in a popup window. Click in the popup and it will open the picture in its original size in a new browser tab. You can then click to magnify it to 100% in that new tab.

Look at the detail. Check the tongue and the right eye of the lizard that is in shadow. Look at how sharp the fine detail is on the shadow of the lizard itself.



Look over here at the scales, great definition. Look how the claws can be counted.



You and your 550 did a fantastic job. I'm glad you took that pic so I didn't have to... :winktongue:

Thanks for the compliments. I hate to see these little guys get run over. A lot of guys out here race off to get them away from the road, no one wants see them hurt.
I like to grab a quick pic when I find one.
If in a cool climate then feel free to use it on your desktop or login screen for personal use.
The surprise me too! What a bargain phone.

I am looking at your photos right now, and all I can say is that they look amazing for that kind of shooter, especially the night shot(!) and the Coke one; may I say that I know a bit about digital photography to say so - great job!

I cannot wait to test mine when it arrives next week.
