poor image on external display

Hi!
I recently got the new surface pro. I pluged a Samsung TA24550 via hdmi cable with DVI adapter.
I get the recommended resolution (1920 x 1080) but the image quality is poor, worse than when connected via VGA to mi old desktop. Any ideas? Thank you!

Could be the adapor that you're using, maybe it's not working properly?

I know the hdmi works properly, but how can I test the adaptor? or which one should I buy? im using a "Griffin" one

what about connecting another device to the same screen using the hdmi cable only?

You need something like this the link below. Quality, however, can be hit and miss with these cables.

Hopefully your screen has HDMI as I couldn't seem to find much on it.

ahh, sorry! I said DVI meaning mini DP, the screen has hdmi and the surface pro mini DP, that's why I was trying the adapter
