Pop ups not blocked in edge

In my windows 10 laptop with latest prod build, edge is not blocking the unnecessary pop ups. I have no unknown apps installed. For the very first click in many web pages, there is new unnecessary webpage being opened. Any help here ...

Sounds like you have a virus or malware. Not normal behavior. Would do a Windows Defender offline scan.

Also try Ublock Origin extension.

I have mcafee antivirus plus installed and no malware found. Let me try windows defender then

Edge does not block pop ups on it's own, you have to add the extension for edge from the store.

Yes I have both ad blocker and ad block plus but seems like malware . Started the scan some tike back
