POP3 -- How to set a specific port number for sending mail?

Trying to setup an email account on Nokia Lumia 822. (Hate this process as I get almost to the end and the phone flips back to the settings page and I lose everything.)

Anyway, managed to get through the setup and can read mail but the outgoing server is on port 587. How do I tell the Windows Phone 8 mail app to use that port to send mail?

To add a port number to your SMTP do this:

smtp.someip.com:portnumber

or

mail.someip.com:portnumber

The port number can be one or two numbers i.e. :587 or :587:1
