I’ve never had many power tools: Cordless reciprocating saw, ancient cordless ½” drill, corded jig saw, corded sander, corded angle grinder.
I don’t really need to work faster and couldn’t decide on a single brand for battery interchangeability. Eventually got it down to either Milwaukee or DeWALT and now finally decided on DeWALT.
Within each brand, there are a myriad of models for each type of tool. And ala cart buying prices are borderline ridiculous. Between the manufacturer and each retailer, they offer combinations of tools at various discounts. The manufacturer combos almost all pair top models with lower range. Retailers as well but since they come up with more combos, easier to get a better price for the exact tools you want. The only manufacturer combo that had just the exact models I wanted was one for a hammer drill and impact driver. The ONLY tool I could not find a combo or single sale close to 50% off retail was the ratchet which was ala cart. So, I am not opening it until black Friday, just in case I want to return it. Already giving the oscillating multitool, hammer drill and impact driver a workout.
Bought:
- ½” Hammer Drill
- ¼” impact driver
- 4.5” angle driver
- Oscillating Multitool
- 3/8” & ½” (swappable anvils) ratchet
- Right angle/ flex adapter for drill/impact driver
- Chargers: 2 Amp (2), 4 Amp (2), 6 Amp
- Batteries: 6Ah 20/60v, 5Ah (3), 2Ah (3)
Chargers and batteries came with some of the combos. I will use all the batteries but can’t imagine ever using more than 2 chargers at once so the 2 Amps are useless which is ok since they get terrible reliability reviews.
