Been awhile since I've posted, but recently acquired goods. Building an atmos surround sound system for HTPC.

My very first pair of floor speakers, center channel, AV receiver and monitor swivel arm stand.

Definitive Technology BP9080X, CS9080, Onkyo NR787, VIVO monitor stand.

Wanna play name that phone? See if you name it correctly on the first try. Should be easy enough I think. Got it in the mail last night.WP_20180921_09_42_45_Rich_LI (2).jpg

I have to guess it's a 950XL even though I can't see the button placement. At first glance it looks like an HTC Titan but I couldn't figure why anybody in his right mind would buy a WP7 device.
Close but no cigar. I would prefer it have been a 950 XL, but for what I paid for it, I would have been robbing the seller. Think Budget device....

Fierce One Touch XL?

You guessed it. From that angle it looked to me like a Samsung but with no physical home button. Also the back cover is a gold one so there is no hint of the Blue color to tip it off. The only W10M device released in the US with capacitive buttons I believe. Yes it is the Fierce XL.

I almost guessed that one because I was contemplating buying one yesterday from a reseller I know who has a BNIB for $45. Then I remembered the camera is worse than the Dell Venue Pro from the WP7 days. Let us know if you can update it to 1709.

I debated that one too but decided to get another Idol 4s.

Yep. It updated to 1709 latest right out of the box. It even took a fw update from Alcatel.

Is the camera any better?
I made a tweak to it to enable living images, other than that I guess it's decent. I have no baseline to gauge from though since I have never used the phone, nor snapped a photo from one FW version to the other. I have not even really used the camera a bunch either. It is definitely on the weaker end of the spectrum.
I can see about posting a couple more photos in that forum of stuff I snapped, maybe you can judge...

It's MacBook refresh time at work.

15-inch 2018 MacBook Pro with the lauded touch bar...

...and I am so completely over the touch bar. It's not as if it's useless. In fact, in some programs I'm quite sure it's very useful. But me personally, it just adds needlessness to my workflow. Even something as simple as hitting Escape takes an extra step depending on what mode the touch bar is in. I do love the screen despite the freakishly red tint that I eventually dialed back. It just feels warm and inviting. But what I really don't like is that keyboard! Blergh! I've never been much of a "key travel" person but boy is this machine lacking. I dislike it so much that I switched to the Dell 9560 as my main machine (which doesn't have a great keyboard either, just a better one).
