A comparison between 2015 version and late 2019 version.

The XPS 13 is one Windows computer that arguably gives the Apple products a run for their money. 20200603_181941.jpeg20200603_182027.jpeg

Logitech M570 trackball mouse.

View attachment 142294

Best Buy has it for $30 bucks and I've always wanted to try a trackball. In my mere 10 minutes of playing around... it takes some getting use to.

Amazon has it for the same amount. I bought one for my father a few weeks ago when his ancient Microsoft trackball started to flake out. It would definitely take me some time to get used to one.

Mrs. is a creature of habit. This was a safe upgrade. The older one is a i5/8GB/128GB version. The new one has a better screen with touch and top of the line specs so I hope it will go for at least 4 to 5 years without any issues.
You and I married sisters. Wuddup cuz?

I'm pretty sure except the ports it's going to be a great laptop. Need to find a hub dongle.

#donglelife
Inexpensive USB-C hubs are darn near impossible to find. They all want to make them all in one devices with video, card readers, and network. Dammit Jim, I just want a simple USB hub! Finally found a Monoprice USB C to 4-port USB A hub at Target (online only) of all places for about $14. Feels cheap as expected, but it works. Would have preferred an Anker, but all they had was Swiss Army knives like everyone else.

Why wouldn't you want HDMI, ethernet, VGA-out and an RJ-45 jack included too? Don't you ever fax anymore?

I'm using a Dell I bought in December 2017.
I like Dells but I don't like their a la carte method of shipping computers. A couple of different RAM/Storage options and let the consumer configure software and ports. The Inspiron 13 I had could come with touchscreen or not, if it had a touchscreen it could support a pen or not. UGH!! It conjures up Forrest Gump and a box of chocolates.

Finally decided to tackle this corner where the new drywall meets the old, buy my ladder's too wide to fit in this space, and my old stepstool was not tall enough for me to reach the top of the wall! Not an exciting purchase by any means I know Couldn't have picked a worse spot for a joint with that light switch there, but it was better than cutting a full sheet around the door and having a butt joint right next to the ceiling.

I have that same little ladder and like it. Good luck with it and your project.

I wanted an affordable second charger for my new work laptop, so I don't have to drag the original supply with my when I move from my upstairs office to my basement office (when there are too many people home, particularly my 14 YO daughter, it gets too loud to work upstairs...) AA battery for scale - this thing is tiny! The factory charger is too pricey, so I have been looking for something quality from a brand I trust that wasn't too expensive. My son had bought a similar charger for his laptop, but pointed me to this one because it was cheaper and had tons of positive reviews. Hopefully it will be as durable as my other RavPower products.

I'm NOT posting pictures of my new Dyson V11 since it doesn't look any different than the one in a few posts back.

I like Costco but they can really shoot themselves in the foot (multiple times). After I bought my Dyson, they lowered the price $20. So I submitted a request for a $20 refund/adjustment. But the virus situation has them on a skeleton staff and they didn't even acknowledge the request. I waited until the last day for the lower price and ordered another with intent to return the new one as the previous higher price order. But, these have a serial number and didn't want to open a can of worms, so I returned the used original order to a local Costco. That one was ordered online using a 1.5% cash reward MasterCard. The stores can't process MasterCards, so they put the refund on a Visa I have, which means I'll keep the 1.5% cash back. An hour later, I get an email telling me they had refunded $20 (plus tax) to the MC used in the initial purchase. I try to have them unadjust the adjustment but the skeleton staff means 1+ hour waits on phone or chat. Sigh. Don't know how much time and hassle I'm willing to spend to save them from themselves.

Update: I called my CC company to contest the $21.xx price adjustment credit they issued AFTER I returned the first V11 for a full refund. Took a while for CC to understand I wanted to reject a credit/refund. Then they found they could only reverse a charge but not a credit. Thanked me for a story to tell the grand kids some day.

Not sophisticated enough (AKA too lazy) to do coffee and hot chocolate the old school way. It fits the machine we have just fine and helps to cut down on the waste. Now I just need one of those super long coffee spoons. IMG_20200613_082533.jpeg
