Precision 5520 and D3100 docking station

I am trying to use this docking station with my precision 5520 laptop and the USB ports work but when I plug ethernet into docking station I get no connection to the laptop and my external monitor is not working when plugged into the docking station via HDMI.

Anyone else ran into this or something similar?
