preview for developer updates ? good idea ?

I just have a quick question. Im new to windows mobile. Got my lumia 630 last week., and its really good. When I switched on thee phone it updated and the current os version is 8.10.12397.895. The software release is lumia cyan.

A couple of days ago I noticed that some features I expected with this are not yet on my phone. I have started to do a bit of research to discover there are preview updates for developers. This sounds good to me. Why wouldn't I like to get the latest features before most.

I managed to register as a developer, but I am unsure whether I should avail of the updates. It says once I update, there is no way of reverting back. I have also been reading about people having trouble with it.

Are the preview updates better ? safe ?
Will they give more features ?

Same for me, 630 a cool phone, and I downloaded the preview for developers because of the folders, so far it hasn't hurt my phone, still very nippy and the xbox music loads quicker(for me anyway) I'd give it a go.....but beware the live lock screen beta as it can cause a few problems.

yea. went ahead with the update, phone seems to be unaffected by anything so far,looking forward to checking out the extra features

Developer previews are a great way to get the latest features first. However they can contain bugs which cause performance and stability problems. The terms and conditions also state your warranty may be void. So install at your own risk.

Dont make people scared
I'm on the latest version of developer preview. I mean come on do you think microsoft uploads them without even testing in one of their own devices ?
Even if bugs do exist might not be serious ones.
Im on the latest version of DP and its good. Recieved an update yesterday which made my phone faster
