Project my screen on Lumia 920 only via USB

Tried to display my screen on TV and was greeted by a prompt which I take as a first grain of salt in all the WP8.1 sweetness.

This phone can't project your screen with wireless connection. Connect with USB.

Really? In 2014? In that case the feature is utterly useless for me.

have you tried it using usb? can you do it? I've tried it to no avail

The 920 doesn't support Miracast. I believe the 930/Icon and 1520 do.

We already knew this, yes? Only the newer phones with the 800 series support wireless displays... What would be kind of cool is if they made a micro USB wireless display adapter... or figured out how to use existing hardware.

Sure it would be cool, but I wouldn't expect it, esp. considering the phone is near 1 and a half years old.

It's a shame - 920 is a downright fantasticp device, but you can't just jump over technical limitations. Well, will use it on 930 when it comes out.
