Proper Spot To Wear On The Wrist?

Trying to figure out where the proper placement on the wrist for the band is (in terms of getting the best readings from the sensors). Some of the photos show it much closer to the hand (basically after the wrist bone) and others show it higher up, resting against the wrist bone. My wrist bones stick out a lot so two days in it already aches.

Also how tight is the band supposed to be? When i took it off last night I had an imprint of the sensor on my skin...thinking that's a little too tight.

I wear mine exactly like I would wear a watch. It is not tightly wrapped around my wrist. I can easily slide it back and forth from right up close to my wrist, to an inch or so back from it.
If you are seeing imprints on your skin, you are wearing it way too tightly. Think of it as a watch, and you should find its sweet spot.

I wear mine on my dominant wrist with the screen facing in. I keep it up above my wrist bone and wear it snug enough so it doesn't slip down onto my wrist. This means it's more snug than a watch but not so snug that it's uncomfortable.

I don't think we've been given official guidance. "Proper" is what works for you and hopefully gives good HR readings while moving.

According to the manual that came with Band, there's no right or wrong way. Just make sure it's not too tight. I wear mine like I've worn my watches - left wrist, display facing up. It's really comfortable and I barely notice it after wearing for the 2nd full day. It doesn't bother me while sleeping either. I think it helps to have bigger wrists - my wife tried the small size and immediately hated it. I have a large.

Depends on your main use as well.
Tighten it a little if you want better heart rate monitoring.
Experiment with different positions to see what works best for you.
I have it not too loose nor tight with screen on the inside of my non-dominant wrist most of the time as it is easier to use the touch screen.
For exercise I may tighten it a bit so it slips on the wrist less and gives better heart rate results (it can slip a bit easier when wrist is sweaty).
At night I swap to the other (dominant) wrist and have the screen on the outside as it is a little more comfortable due to the way I sleep. Also reminds me to start and stop sleep tracking.
