Purple screen tint a software problem?

I was suffering the purple screen problem with my new 930, but to make sure that it wasn't just me that was crazy, I went and checked my phone against a number of other phones in various stores in my area.

I found there was definitely a difference in color between my screen and the demo phones' screens.

But I also found that the menus in Display under Settings was different than the software on my phone.

I use the trick to uninstall the Display app by setting the date forward to year 2106, launch...uninstall... Then I rebooted my telephone and I believe the problem has disappeared.

Can anyone else corroborate this?

did you change the color profile? more cool effect or something?

Tried that first, but didn't work as well as deleting the Display setting. It was going to be either that, or a hard reset and try to be careful not to update display. I wish I could get just the old version of Display to add back.

Change Bright to medium or Hight.

Curious, though, who else might have gotten a good result by downgrading via a hard reset or by deleting the Display setting app.

Tried downgrading by hard reset, no result. Tried uninstalling the Display app, no result. Guessing you might be lucky or experiencing placebo effect .

Huh. Sorry to hear you didn't experience an improvement. I was also worried about the placebo effect. But as crazy as it was driving me before, I'm not having that deep existential feeling of hatred now.

Makes me wonder if there are two separate issues -- one hardware-related (the purple curse) and one software-related (bright gray/no black, bad tint) .
