Quiet Hours Lock Screen Notifications

So far I've been toying with Quiet Hours using my work calendar to silence my Lumia Icon while at work. One thing I noticed though, is not only does it appear to silence the phone, but text messages no longer turn the screen on and show the "toast" notifications. Has anyone else encountered this, and is there a way to still have this items pop up just without the sound?

Quiet Hours stops everything from coming through. If you want notifications but no sounds, just put your phone on silent.
