Hi all,

I am having a strange issue using my Surface Pro 2017 with LG 4K Monitor using Mini-dp to Display port cable provided by the monitor. Once every 3-4 minutes I have a black screen for 2 seconds, then the screen is back to normal.

I tried to download the Intel GPU driver, but I cannot install, as it said Microsoft has installed a custom version of the driver.

I am currently using

Windows 10 Pro
Version - 1909
OS Build - 18363.592
I am currently running at 3840x2160 with custom scaling (135%)

If I try to update the Display driver, I get information that the driver is already up to date.

My Device Specification

Intel Core i7 7660U CPU
16 GB RAM
Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640
Any leads to solve the issue would be great!

Hi, I have the same Problems with a benQ 4k Monitor. I think the Problem is the Intel Iris 640 Driver because this doesn’t happen when I connect a i5 Version of the Surface Pro 5 which has a Intel HD 620 Graphics Card.

A Workaround which helped me to reduce the blackscreens almost (to once per hour) is to change the refresh rate of the monitor from 59 Hz to 50 Hz on the i7 Version of the Surface, the i5 version works just fine also with 59 Hz!
