NOTE: just read in another thread than an ATT 830 owner tried to download via Insider and it skipped update 2 and installed WP10 build so be aware...

Yep, just happened to me as well. it went right for the WP10, rather than the intermediate GRD2. I've deleted the Insider App before the download, but it still looks like it's going to auto-install WP10 at some point - the message was something like 'if I don't manually start the installation by 6.15.15, it will automatically install it.'

I think a hard reset will stop that, but back up apps and data and remember the date so you don't download Insider again.

Is there any chance that now the AT&T 635 recieve the GDR2 update CV variants of the 635 in other countries also recieve GDR2 any time soon?

unbelievably the very budget Bush / Archos shared design WinPho as sold by Argos UK has picked up the 8.1 GDR update ! weeks before my 735, which has been smashed now gutted to find my replacement temporary 925 doesn't have GDR2 available !

There is a TUTO that let SD Card enabled Lumias , to modify some registry keys and then you get to upgrade to GDR2.. If I'm not world that tutorial is in this forum, if you can't find it lookup in XDA Forums.. Under Windows Phone 8-> Development&Hacking

Insider pulled GDR2 down before attempting to pull 10TP. GDR2 works just fine on the T-Mobile 925 with this.

Can I install GDR2 on my L925 (without a carrier, don't know what you call it) by installing the insider app and uninstalling it before it downloads the W10M ?

In the past that would've been possible. I wouldn't risk it now unless you don't mind the risk of hardresetting.

Update 2 is no longer a temporary stop as it was early on. it upgrades straight to 10 more often than not now.

Wow, thanks! The thing is, MSFT shouldn't have forsaken 8.1 in anxiety of 10. I think L925 is a very nice rig, but just been pushed out of the spotlight, unfairly.

was this tried going on the slow ring or fast ring insider setting?

I tried with the Fast Ring, No GDR2, straight to the 10. And before that, I have had installed Build 10166 via Slow Ring and that was also straight to the 10. There is a note on Build 10536 saying: "Single update from Windows Phone 8.1 to Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview for all devices"
