Raw /.DNG

Hi, just updated my 1020 to black and am trying to view .dng files on my (pretty old) xp laptop but I cant seem to get hold of any software to open and process the files. Any ideas? Adobe CC constantly crashes my browser and my version of photoshop is pre .dng. Don't mind paying for software as long as its not extortionate. Thanks.

I would recommend Adobe Lightroom if your PC is good enough for it :wink:

Thanks All. I have a very old Sony laptop and a slightly newer low spec HP netbook. Both are XP so lightroom and photoshop appear to be out. Struggled with errors using gimp but managed to get faststone photo view to work although control and options seem very limited. According to Adobe photoshop elements may run so I'll maybe try the trial of that. All Adobe products seem seriously overpriced for a novice though. May use the trial to shoot jpg v raw and see if I think I may be better just sticking with jpg and my photoshop 7.

Thanks, will try irfanview. Found a really good one called Rawtherapee but it makes my pc run ridiculously slow. Canon may work if they save dng but I guess that's paid software that comes with canon cameras? Cheers.
