Hello,

I am new here and this site seems to be great.

I have a problem where I store my contacts with country code, area code and the number.

If I store +974 5666666 as XYZ name, there is no area code here in in this example. When this number calls me it comes as 5666666 so it can not be recognized as XYZ and giving me unknown caller.

If I remove +974 the country code the name is displayed. Can you help me how to overcome this problem on my mobile to get the name displayed. I do not want to remove the +974 as if I am travelling and want to call this country code I have to update all my contacts again with the country code.

I have HTC touch pro working on WM 6.1. You quick help is appreciated.

Best regards,

Well my understanding is that when you have the country code (1 digit), area code (3 digits), and the number (7 digits), you should have 11 digits.

The example number you posted only has 10, like a regular phone number without the country code.

Assuming that number you posted is a US number, it should be +1-974-566-6666.

Try adding the 1 after the plus and see if that fixes it.

+974 is a country code of Qatar

Thanks for your reply, but the +974 is the country code for Qatar not an area code in US. We have 3 digits for country code and 7 digits for the local number.

Thanks.

I'm new to the HTC Touch but isn't there some place with a default country/area code? If so, by default it may not show when calls come in. Just a thought...

There is extra lines for multiple phone numbers. Simply store the phone number with and without the country code.

Your issue may be solved with Schap's Advanced Config. http://www.touchxperience.com/en/advanced-configuration-tool.html

Download, install then, in the Phone Settings, set "call ID match:" 4~7.

Hello there,

I just posted a thread with the exact same problem. Did you finally get a fix into it?

I have hundreds of contacts imported from our Active Directory and all phone number are saved with the contry code. Any foreign call received and which obviously includes the country code, it is properly resolved to the contact name - however all received calls from local number where local country code is not correctly avoided, cannot be resolved.

Please advise.

Thanks
