Red eye when using flash at night

Every time when i shoot faces in places with low light...9 out of 10 photos come out with red eyes.I suppose Xenon flash is superior to this category.
Anyone else have similar issues with flash on 1020?

If you are farther away, it won't red eye. If you are using Nokia camera beta, it will edit it out automatically from a closer distance.

So you mean that Nokia beta will fix red eye automatically during post-processing?

Yes. Mostly. And you can hit it with the red eye filter on Nokia creative studio if it needs a bit more.

This has little to nothing to do with the type of flash used. The problem is more likely to occur in low light situations, because humans pupils widen in dark environments.

It can be avoided in a number of ways:

• by using a flash that is about a foot (or more) away from the camera lens, but this isn't an option with compact cameras or smartphones.
• by using a pre-flash, that will cause the subjects pupils to narrow before the actual picture is taken.
• by asking the subject not to look directly into the camera, which tends to look more natural anyway.

Otherwise Nokia can help with post-processing as mentioned.

Amazing.Indeed...Nokia camera beta does not produce red eye when shooting with flash on 1020.Excellent results...thanks for the tip.
