As you can see from the title I am debating on making the leap. Yes the screen is a bit smaller but my 1320 gets hung up alot with resuming screens. I am wondering if it will be worth the jump.

640XL is the right device for you, 1320 is fast, but it lacks the good camera, with 640 you won't get a better one

I will get a Win10 flagship eventually. But the resuming is driving me mad! That is why I considered this phone because the XL is not out yet and the smaller screen won't bother me

Did you already try a soft reset to see if this helps. Also pinning Cortana can cause "resuming" or using a lock screen app. (or a hard reset)
This just to be sure it's not software related.
Or do you use a "slow" SD card?

I did un-pin Cortana but the problem did persist. Did not use a lock screen app and I use a Ultra MicroSDXC Class 10 SD card. Just got frustrated with it. My 635 worked better with less ram.
