Report people who've commented on the blog posts?

Many people are cool on WPCentral, on the forums and blog. But some spam, troll, and are rude. On the forums, good thing we have a report button. On the blog, we don't, and can't really report people. This isn't just WPC, but all of the MN sites as well.

Might a suggest, for each comment, how there is a reply button, to also add a report button, to report it for spamming, harassing, being rude, etc.

This would be much appreciated. Thanks!


Edit: For one person, I mean Hit the Lights, but his most recent account has been Hate It or Love It.

It would be nice if the forum mods held some sort of jurisdiction over the comment threads (and the ever-so-unbannable Hit The Lights).

If you're asking why, the writers are often doing their job as tech journalists, and not really able to respond to the comments.

That is true And llooking at some of the articles people really go way off topic with their stuff to the point you have long threads that have absolutely nothing to do with the article.

Case in point look at the blackberry article.

The blackberry Article is appalling. Nearly all the comments from 2 individuals in that article consist of using the N word. Other articles have been getting bad as well, not just in racial slurs, but with comments filled with sexism and homophobia. If I wanted to read childish, hateful crap like that, I'd read Yahoo & Youtube comments. I come here to read news about WP and it's ecosystem, not to watch bigots and trolls spew crap in place of a discussion.

@All - If you spot rude, inappropriate and obscene comments please report them to Dave Blake or myself. We can handle. Already handled one of these this morning!

We are working on better reporting and moderation features for the blog comments as well.

James, I also notice on the forums, profanity isn't allowed, and adds the asterisks, but on the blog posts, people can curse and criticize all they want, and be racist. Is it because sometimes, the writers like to use a little profanity?

There is nothing wrong with criticizing though there was an article with some dudes essentially talking like stereotypical black males that I found tasteless.

I love windows phone central as it is the best place to get windows news but I do think they let a little too much slide by and sometimes I wonder if they post certain things solely as click bait.

And...Hit the Lights is back, with his alts, Washed Up Former Child Actor and The Anthem. We, the community, have been dealing with Hit the Lights for far too long, and we want him gone.

I don't think Washed Up Former Child Actor is Hit the Lights. It doesn't follow his/her pattern, I've noticed that those are names of songs for his/her alts and all the accounts have registered on email accounts that don't actually exist. He/She may have registered all his/her alts before email verification was implemented.
