Resetting the W4

Recently, I tried to reset my W4. The reset failed, and notified me that I needed to insert the recovery media. So, I bought a USB hard drive, and tried to use the included disc that came with my W4. Found out quickly that the W4 cannot power a USB drive. So, I bought a powered USB hub to power the USB drive. Tried resetting the tablet again, but this time, the W4 notified me that the media was invalid! This is the recovery disc provided by Acer in the box. So, now, I'm at a standstill. Can anyone help? Thanks.

I have the Acer W3 ( much the same, just a poorer screen then W4)....

When I did reset I had to copy files from DVD disk to SD card, also it reverted me back to Win 8, then I used store to return to Win 8.1

Over on Winsupersite there is a walk through on how to get a Win 8.1 ISO with a Windows 8 Key......you should be able to download Windows 8.1 ISO with your Windows Key I would think ( From Microsoft)
It should let you make a bootable Thumb drive to load vanilla Windows no Acer crap.

No luck. Get a "Cannot use this key to install a retail copy of Windows".

Yeah, same issue with my W4. Had to take to the acer store.
