resize background picture

how do you adjust the size of background pictures? it wants to crop all pictures and i want to use the whole picture. sorry if this has been asked before.

What you could do is manually adjust the size of the picture on a pc or find a picture that has the supported dimensions..

Otherwise there is no option to increase the size of the picture when selecting it as a background image. If the picture is above the supported dimensions, the phone will automatically ask you to crop it..

You could post this ability as a suggestion in the feedback app

ok it is too big apparently. even the ones that come with the phone are. even if i resize them smaller it still wants to cut stuff off for some reason. it don't make sense. what feedback app?

If your on w10 then you should have a feedback app in your apps list (shortcut: hold down vol down and power button for 2 seconds)

Ok I think you might be on 8.1 :/ To check go to settings > about This doesn't solve your problem at all.. Just so you know

Well with w10 you will be able to add a full picture as a background picture But you still have to crop it

This has to be one of the few things I found annoying. Even MS preloaded backgrounds require cropping.

If we're talking about w10, I think this restriction was placed because the amount of apps you have on your start screen can impact performance but I could be wrong
