Restoring after hard reset?

I must be losing it, is there NO way to restore a backup unless you do it when you're hard reseting? Can't this be triggered anywhere else?

Yes, backup can be restored only while setting up your phone after a hard reset. I always wish that there should have been a way to restore the backup after setting up the phone.

Thanks, the problem is that I'm coming from a phone that had more storage. So when I go through the restore process I start running out of room.

That sucks. Just stepped back my phone from slow ring to production release via recovery tool. Backed up all my stuff which is in one drive but having reconfigure from zero.
