Hi everyone. I'm currently using an unlocked Lumia 925 (amazing phone!) and am subscribed to a plan with Etisalat in the UAE that gets me unlimited data for social networking. Is there a way to restrict background data usage so that the only apps that can use it are Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp etc. ? I don't want to be charged for out of bundle usage so I want to restrict other background updating apps like WPCentral, CNN, XE to only update when on WiFi. Any advice? Thanks :)

I don't think there's any way you can control usage to that level.

What I'd do, is disable live tiles and background tasks for any app that you don't want accessing cellular data.

Then, when you have Wifi signal, just use the apps that you want to use.

Unpinning will do that, but also turning off background tasks under settings. Most apps that have them allow you to turn on/off toast & push notifications. This will reduce data usage also
