Safely remove hardware option does not appear when Win phone is connected to pc.

Hi
Today for the first time i connected my windows 8 phone to my windows 8 laptop,and i noticed i could not safely remove hardware my phone as i could do with any other device(memory card,camera etc) and i just unplug the Usb from the phone with no further action. Is this safe?
Note: I tried with a different phone,same results. I tried on a different Windows 8 laptop same results.
Why this happens ?

Because delayed write isn't enabled when the phone is connected, so it doesn't matter if you remove it as it cannot be waiting to write to the drive.
