Samsung Focus i917 Upgrade to 7.8 Issues

I have a Samsung Focus i917 AT&T USA that was upgraded to Mango 7.5. I tried using SevenEighter to update it to 7.8 but after two tries it is still at version 7.5. I had only selected English as I didn't know what languges were suposed to be selected. It now shows English German French Spanish and Italian.

In both atemps to update to 7.8 SevenEighter had com errors. I am using the XP version of SevenEighter to do the update.

I tried to do the update again selecting all the language packs that show in 7.5 but got an expection error right away and SevenEighter stopped.

Can the Samsung i917 be updated to 7.8? What should I try next?

How do I tell if I have the 1.3 ROM?
