Minecraft: PE get Xbox Live Achievements on iOS and Android, but not Windows Phone!
One would've thought, with Microsoft owning Mojang and Windows Phone that Xbox Live achievements would've come to Minecraft: Pocket Edition on Windows Phone back when the game launched in December 2014. It didn't, but we Windows Phone fans held out hope that they'd add them eventually. Now, it appears that Mojang has finally brought Xbox achievements to Pocket Edition, not for the Windows Phone version of the game, but actually for competing platforms iOS and Android only.
It's been frustrating watching Microsoft stab Windows Phone fans in the back by continually releasing more apps, better quality apps, and more features on competing platforms but not on their own, and this is an egregious continuation of that. If you feel so inclined to complain, I guess I'd start with these Twitter accounts:
•@Minecraft
•@Mojang
•@XboxP3 (Phil Spencer, head of Xbox)
•@shannonloftis (Shannon Loftis, head of Microsoft Studios)
•@jeb_ (Jens Bergensten, developer at Mojang)
•@shoghicp (Shoghi Cervantes, developer at Mojang)
•@_tomcc (Tommaso Checchi, developer at Mojang)
Update: Mojang has
officially confirmed that they are not bringing Xbox integration to Minecraft on Windows Phone.
