Screen brightness

I've had my 920 for 2 years now, which I love and use excessively. My brother bought one at the same time, but has hardly used it. Earlier I placed both phones side by side, and to my surprise, found the quality of his screen to be much higher, most notably the whites. I checked screen settings, and they are identical on both phones.
Could the difference in screen quality be down to wear and tear, and is it something that can easily be fixed? I loathe to spend money on a two year old phone.

I think it could be screen, more likely the 2-year old battery not being the workhorse it was. A slight drop in output from it would explain the screen dimming a hair.

I agree with you- so long as performance is fine, don't spend any cash chasing a white rabbit. That rabbit hole could end up opening up to a ton of other problems.

If ain't broke (altogether now), don't fix it.
